More propaganda, I'm afraid folks....!! Just a muse on how many 505's are being raced at the moment in the British Isles. Indeed how many new crews we may see at Lymington in July.

Last weekend, we had 16 boats sailing at Burton. Next weekend, I am off to Monkstown for a session with the Irish Fleet (10+ boats?). I suspect that we may see 16-18 boats at Carsington (hopefully a couple of the Scottish International Pool team from Burton last year - 3-5 of them on the Start line in July?).

We have also had 6 Boats racing well in European events.

Then we come to the East Coast: Shotley, Stone, Southwold (a few new pairings and hulls there, I understand) and that new centre of 505 activity (yes Blackwater, I am talking about you).

I have personally spoken to about 6/7 other crews who sail older hulls, and are keen to come and join the party this July (including Skippy 8460...!)

Where is this going.....? Building on the December mailout and Ali Palace, I think that 40 boats at Lymington looks quite achievable.

Pls can we get a bit of enthusiasm/banter going, coz I reckon that number is achievable if everyone commits, gets momentum going, and drags waverers with them!

Oh yes, and did I mention a certain Hunt/Byrd partnership currently on the blocks? I believe that Carsington could their coming out party...errr hang on, that didn't sound quite right!!

DC and I are in......obviously... .so who else?

Most of the Burton crowd will be attending, Accomodation booked already.

Definates are:

Kenney/ Kenney
George/ Cartwright
Bell/ Ward

plus there is likely to be:

Bird/ Nurse
Wright/?

Speaking to the Carsington boats at the Burton Open I think that:
Webbo/ Burdekin
Sims/ Wood
Hayhurst/ Coates
Bridden/ Bridden

will also be attending. That makes 11 to start with. Who else?

I know Brett Townsend and Andy Dennis from Blackwater are intending on the Nationals, having spoken to Andy at the weekend.

Looks like Steve Perkins and James (SPP below) is going to Lymington and Stone so thats 2 blackwater boats at Lymington.

I would have thought some of the three Blackwater travellers will do one or more of the East Coast too.

I'll have a go, although I can't hope for much with an 18-year old boat (8207) and little racing experience, have they started making 9000s yet?

Toby tells me that there are also going to be a couple of local 505's sailing from Lymington.

On this list so far, we are around 30 - 32.
No word from the Scots or Fenton yet (3 boats?).

I'm then hoping that:

Simon Lakey / Ben Iliffe
Ian Pinnell/Carl Gibbon
Terry Scutcher/Christian Diebitsch
Jim Berry/John Barnes
Stuart Turnbull and Jason Lunn

Are a fair bet.

I additionally hear rumblings that Mr Fulcher may well be in attendance.

So late thirties already.....not counting home club crews.
