From SWE / DEN / FIN take the ferry either from Karlskrona Stenaor Nynashamn POLferry - Club works on sponsordeals with ferry companies now by plane, if somebody else takes your boat: very easy Gdansk int. Airport is only 15km awaythere are cheap flights from Kopenhagen, Berlin, Hamburg, London etc. check it yourself easy for oversea teams as well City:Sopot is in the middle between Gdansk and Gdynia and both are big cities and each are 20-30km away but I think you do not need to leave Sopot as there will be so much entertainment there ! centre of Sopot with really really many bars and restaurants etc. is only 1km from club so you will need need a car all weekand do not have to worry about some or more beers... Prices:Piotr said they will do entry fee of 250 Euro but that will include everything and food and happy-hour every day and 2 evening partys and cost do not matter all anyway, as I have been out on friday night and it was great - still in November bars where full and good party and beer in bar is only 1 Euro, good longdrink 1,5-2 Euro meal main course maybe 5-6 Euro this all comes with many many really nice eyecatchers...... in summer also many bars on the beach and at the large pier Sailing:the ramp on the beach is only 50-100 meter from dinghy park the bay is really big and open and the beach is endlessThey can place the race area wherever suitable depending on direction POL Nationals Saturday & Sunday, Monday a quick measurement Euro Racing Tuesday til Saturday 9 races, with large party Saturday night so you can still be back home for work by monday morning so Euro can be done with only 5 days away from work for everybody but why not come earlier or stay longer and do some holiday there at the "POL Riviera" So in general I think we can expect to have a perfect location with good timing at end of August not too far to drive and many friendly people running it and a really cheap place to go but with the best party option we can get anywhere ! Sounds like an affordable option for those of us who cannot take the time to do Adelaide.....bear in mind that quite a large German turnout will be expected - and one imagines a decent Nordic contingent too. This will probably be a great regatta. Chas Charlie W

As you know the Holger's report, let me add some small details: Accomodation - caravan space in club for free/club facilities for your use (showers etc.) -cheap hotels/hostels - I think you can find something from 10E per day per person and for something like 25 euro you get a quite good quality. Holger has already booked club hotel room ->www.skz.sopot.pl - Accor Novotel is about 300m form club and Sofitel is 1.5km from club. Prices will not be low for these two, but you know exactly what you get. Flying -Gdansk Airport is 15km from club, taxi to club will be around 15 euro. -direct flights to UK/ Ireland London(Stans ted/Luton) ,Cork,Dublin,Edinbur gh,Liverpool,Shannon ,Glasgow Most of them are low fare airlines Boat transportation - driving from UK/Ireland will be long way to go. - What do you think about packing 9 boats into container and letting them go with land container service? I think that the per boat price will be quite competitive compared to driving on double trailers, and you save a lot of time and can fly to regatta. If you have any questions, I'll be happy to answer cheers Piotr Zoltowski POL 7539 / 2007 Europeans Organization Team Piotr Z. POL 7539

Think this is a great idea - although we also have a good contact for containers now. [ Edited Mon Dec 04 2006, 12:24AM ] Simon GBR8955

He's told me he wants to be the open side flanker for Scotland, despite being eligible for England and Wales. He also wants to be a finn helm and thinks oppies are soft. Quite advanced for someone so young don't you think!
