Swain's Gold are based in Plympton, Devon, and play a wide veriety of music such as traditional folk, Cajun, Appalachian, blue grass & vocals. We have played for fund raising events, barn dances, parties, ceilidhs, Burn's Nights, weddings, anniversaries and all kinds of celebrations in the Devon, Cornwall, Somerset & Dorset area. We also give concert performances for non-dance venues. Charges are based on playing time required and milage.
Our instruments are many and varied but usually include melodeon, fiddle, mandolin, guitar, banjo, whistles, recorders and percussion. Our caller has extensive dance experience and will look after you whether you are an expert or a newcomer to traditional dance. Our sound engineer, Dave, uses an excelent PA system which includes an ipod, CD player and computer link facilities for your choice of music during the break. We also have a large range of incidental music to keep you and your guests entertained between dances if your feet need a rest!
